EC Board of Directors

The Eastern Christian School Board of Directors

One of our key distinctives at Eastern Christian School is that we are an independent private school. Unlike almost every other faith-based school (run by a specific church congregation, denomination, or diocese), Eastern Christian is governed by an elected Board of Directors.

This shared partnership is vital to the success of our school.

Who serves on the Board of Directors?

Each Board member serves a three year term, and may serve up to three consecutive terms.  Board members are elected by members of the Eastern Christian School Association

According to the by-laws of Eastern Christian, board members must be a member of the Association and attend a church of reformed persuasion, in alignment with our educational values.

What does the Board of Directors do?

The Board of Directors is responsible for oversight of the school. The Board of Directors also has direct oversight responsibility for the work of the Head of School.

Who is allowed to attend Board meetings?

While the meeting of the Board of Directors is closed to the general public, any Association member of the Eastern Christian School Association, parents of current students, and employees of Eastern Christian School may attend the open session of any Board meeting as well as the Annual Association Meeting.
